MOM'S SURGERY

Just a reminder to all of you that Mom will have her surgery on the 15th. They are still unsure of the time, as they wait until the last day to tell you to fill all of the cancellation spots. She is excited to have this done and see if it will work. They will use a laser and try to clear off all of the scar tissue and nodules that have grown on her vocal chords as a result of the bad experience putting the tube down her throat for the shoulder surgery four months ago. The pictures she showed us from the camera they used to see the damages were awful. There is alot of damage.
We are very hopeful for her that this will work and be the end of her suffering. She will not be able to talk for one whole week after the surgery to allow the vocal chord time to heal. That would be tough!! Remember her in your prayers, cards and phone calls to dad!

We talked to Mom tonite and she said that her surgery is at 8AM. She has to be there at 6AM. They told her to bring her personal items just in case. Hope all goes well for her! We get home at 8PM Thursday and will try to call dad to check on Mom when we land in Chicago.

We called Dad today 1-16 and he said the Mom came through the surgery well. She cannot talk for a week, however is eating normally. He said that the doctor said everything went great and hopes for a full recovery. She was pleased.
